There is a 90% correlation with Texas natural gas prices and electricity rates
Texas electric rates follow right along with natural gas prices due to many of our power generation plants producing the electricity we use with natural gas fuel. Natural Gas is both cheap and clean in producing electricity although it is at a 12 month historical high at this time. These are commercial "energy only" rates in this graph and do not have the pole and wires charges bundled into the rate.
