If you have been looking for a comprehensive list of the deregulated states in the US then this list should help. This list contains both natural gas and electricity deregulated information on all 50 states. If you need more information about a states deregulated status you can visit their state commerce site that will give you more information related to how energy deregulation is going in that state and if they consider it a success or failure in lowering energy rates.

Here is a map of all states in Texas that have their electricity deregulated. Deregulated electricity means that the energy consumers in these states can pick among multiple retail electric providers to buy their energy instead of just one monopoly company. States in blue are deregulated while states in gray are not.

All deregulated electricity did for us in Texas is force us to purchase our electricity from the power generator through a Retail Electric Provider, middleman billing service. This increased our cost 40%-70%.
You may have noticed after Huricane Ike, Centerpoint Energy (power generator) restored our electricity here in Houston. This is who we purchased our electricity from before deregulation, under the name Houston Lighting and Power.
What a scam our state legislature pulled on the citizens. I'am sure none of our legislators had a vested interest in these 'paper energy companies' that suddenly popped up.
Are you sure that Gas isn't deregulated in Connecticut? Please update your list.
I wonder why FL isn't deregulating the electricty? It is pretty much a monopoly with FPL.
Didn't realize all these states existed in Texas…who knew? And when exactly did Oklahoma deregulate its power industry. Well thought out, well planned.

Why does it say "all states in Texas…"? Don't they mean "all states in the U.S."? (This is directly under the headline "May of Electricity Deregulated States.)
