Champion Energy has a very low cost electric rate in the Houston area. The price is lower then any of the other electric companies I have seen so far. They only offer one term at 12 months but this is the most popular term for most people so it usually works for most peoples needs. The rate for January is at 11.1 cents a kWh with a $4.95 monthly service fee. If you add in the service fee into the rate you are still paying about 11.3 cents a kWh which is a lower rate then the most competitive providers offering residential electric service in Houston.
